Overview
UBCPMG was founded in 2012 with the sole purpose of helping to further educate UBC Okanagan students. In 2016 the UBCPMG joined the Management Student Association in order to better achieve our mission and gain access to more resources. Its purpose is the today as it was in 2012.
As the realm of business advances at an unprecedented rate with a widening gap between academia and organisational demands, students are often tasked with attaining real-world experience on their own. We at UBC Portfolio Management Group follow the structure of a real mutual fund and utilize knowledge and tools from the field of finance to help bridge the gap between students and the markets. Written performance and analyst reports are not commonly taught in class, nor are getting the opportunity to monitor and manage a portfolio of investment assets linked to real market conditions. This crucial experience will be provided by UBCPMG.
UBCPMG has worked very hard over the last few years to establish a solid structure for years to come. The PMG has received help in the past from AGF, RBC, Raymond James, Cypress, and even a Mayor of Kelowna, have been a great help in getting us through our years of operations. We are ever expanding as a group and are always looking to further push our boundaries. With the help of our current executives we will be working towards obtaining capital for our UBCPMG portfolio. With the support of the Faculty of Management, the Management Student Association, and the promising students we have on our team, we believe the future of the PMG is bright!

We offer students the opportunity to gain hands on experience managing a portfolio, evaluating real investment decisions, presenting stock recommendations and producing professional written reports.
Our goal at UBCPMG is to provide valuable knowledge and insight into the financial industry and it’s features. We look to enrich students' minds and provide the opportunity for each member to use this knowledge in their future endeavors.
Guest speakers, workshop skill development, networking events, and teamwork all play a role in the experience as a member of UBCPMG. This is a great way for those pursuing a passion for the industry to make connections in the local community and start building their professional network.
