The UBC Portfolio Management Group begins accepting applications in late summer and September. Applicants are asked to fill out our application form located at the bottom of this page and to submit a copy of their resume. Students chosen will be put through our training program which includes financial analysis, equity research and the ability to have hands on experience working with Bloomberg Terminals. 

Admission Requirements:

• Basic finance / securities knowledge

• Willingness to educate self / others

• Dedication to minimum time requirements (20 hours per month)

• Ability to work as a member of a team

• Preferably pursuing business / econ courses / FoM finance specialization

 

​Position: Analyst

 

This is a position for students with little finance / securities knowledge that are eager to learn more about the world of investing. Analysts will work closely with their sector heads to perform equity research on securities in their respective sectors. Analysts will help sector heads in preparing stock pitches, quarterly reports and sector performance reports. This is a great position for those looking to get involved in the world of investing and create connections with individuals in the local area. Even those with no finance / securities knowledge are encouraged to apply for an analyst position as there will be an enormous amount of help available to help learn and build your skills. 

Position: Sector Head

 

This is a position for students that have a more developed understanding of finance and securities. The Sector Head is in charge of managing analysts within their respective sectors and helping analysts develop and understanding of financial analysis. Sector Heads will produce stock pitches, quarterly reports and sector performance reports with the aid of their analysts. Sector heads will also work closely with the executive teams to ensure that all sectors are performing equally and the overall productivity of the group is upheld.
