INVESTMENT PHILOSOPHY

As an organization that aims to teach its members real world experience, but set in an academic organization, the group focuses on two somewhat polar opposites; value investing and growth investing. The training that we provide starts with fundamentals that dives into the world popularized by Benjamin Graham and Warren Buffet, ensuring that the members truly understand the fundamentals of the market.

Growth investing is then taught as to balance between the two popular methods of valuations, and to cover the spectrum as they are sure to cross many different methods in their future careers.

What We Look For

Each sectors will come up with their own recommendations to the portfolio through either the value or growth investing philosophies. The recommendations are then evaluated on an individual basis, and decided upon by the Fund Manager, President, and board members.

Due to the vast differences in the two philosophies, only common factors we look for are the beta, and target return (and thus the Sharpe ratio) as to keep our overall portfolio balanced and within our target parameters.
